Typically, the model and Rhode founder sticks to her signature colors and manicures: pale, sheer pinks, soft French tips, and shimmery, frosty whites. She's pretty much synonymous with the glazed nail look and has been faithful to the aesthetic for years. But for the Fashion Trust U.S. Awards in Los Angeles on April 8, Bieber decided to do something completely different—she wore purple nails. Yes, purple.
Have we ever seen Hailey Bieber in purple nails before? I keep a very close eye on the nail trendsetter's manicures, given it's part of my job, and I honestly don't think I've ever seen her wear a shade like this. But this also isn't your everyday, run-of-the-mill purple. It's not a deep plum or bright grape purple, like the kind you'd find in a box of Crayola markers, but rather a stylish fusion of mauve and lavender with just a hint of taupe. It's soft and muted, but still impactful. It also perfectly matches her halter dress, which was probably not a coincidence. The color may have been a total surprise, but Bieber did stick to her favorite nail shape, the long, classic almond, plus her go-to flushed cheeks, softly tinted lips, and extra-shiny long hair.
Bieber has been feeling a simpler mani aesthetic for most of 2025 so far; earlier this year, she wore one of her most naked manicures ever to the Vanity Fair Oscars afterparty, skipping the glazed finish in favor of a micro-micro French tip. But could this purple-y shade be a sign that she's ready for something new? It is spring, after all—a time to refresh, revive, and re-invigorate your routines, and sometimes that starts with your nails.
